Slackhouse Farm is situated in Upper Weardale in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at an altitude of almost 1300 feet.
Ellie Langley is a feltmaker who uses natural fleeces from the sheep on her environment award winning smallholding. Slack House Farm is powered entirely by renewable energy, has reedbed drainage, a compost toilet, sheeps wool insulation, biomass willow, upland hay meadow and incredible wildlife.
Slack House Farm offers a range of courses for those with an interest in preserving our environment, including permaculture, healing plants and natural feltmaking.
En suite Bed and Breakfast accommodation is also available and Ellie is also available to teach workshops/give demonstrations at other venues and has experience of working with adults, school groups, community groups and groups with special needs.
