    Crisis Skylight Centre, Newcastle - 0191 222 0622

Crisis is the national charity for solitary homeless people working year-round across the UK to help vulnerable and marginalized people get through the crisis of homelessness.

Our missiCrisis - Fighting for hope for homeless peopleon is to fight homelessness and enable people to fulfil their potential and transform their lives. Out of this desire was born Crisis Skylight, a model developed by Crisis in London in 2002.   Skylight is a Learning and Skills Centre that offers people free access to a variety of learning opportunities where homeless and non-homeless people can take part in practical and creative workshops together. Crisis Skylight is founded on the principle that we can provide one-to-one support, advice and guidance, progression to work to help people reach their chosen goal.

On 24 April 2007, Crisis Skylight Newcastle opened.  It has already proved very successful in helping those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by engaging them in skills, learning, education and employment.  The recently opened adjoining Skylight Café is also a vocational training environment for our members and volunteers.

Crisis began over 36 years ago as a volunteer-led organisation and much of our work would not be possible without thCrisis estimates there are 400,000 hidden homeless in Englande support of thousands of volunteers. Today, volunteers play a crucial role, working with homeless people, providing essential administrative support or raising crucial funds.

Why not become a volunteer with Crisis. We require General Volunteers, Support Volunteers, Services Volunteers, Learning and Skills Volunteers and Set Up Volunteers.
