Allison Harris

An artist originally from Middlesbrough , an early inspiration was seeing William M. Turner's paintings – vast expanses and the drama of light and dark in his skies.

My work is based on abstract images, sometimes taken directly from landscape or figure, but primarily from imagination. My intention is to create large-scale environments and evoke a mood or emotive response. I do this by the ‘play': juxtaposition of colours and repetition of shapes, lines, and other symbols.

As a member of the Tynedale Artists' network I have exhibited and sold paintings at the Art Tour, The Biscuit Factory, Off The Wall Gallery, The Art Café, and Bellway Homes at Wynyard, Teeside. I paint in oils, acrylics, charcoal, and pastels, and can undertake commissions either for the corporate market or for the home, tailored to individual requirements.
