David Hall

Originally beginning my career in commercial art and design for print, I have throughout the years endeavored to integrate my love of the natural world into the practical arena of making a living. I have spent many years filling field and studio sketch books with the details of animal, and more particularly, plant life.

The entangled tapestry of undergrowth is a constant source of inspiration, everywhere the eye rests a new and compelling composition presents itself. Throughout the seasons from birth to decay nature provides an endless gallery of wonderful designs.
As a Designer/Illustrator I have taken on illustrative commissions and designed exhibitions for a variety of heritage subjects, as can be viewed on my website.

Stylewise, my work is influenced by the decorative and graphic arts, I have a love of illustrated books and visual storytelling, taking great joy in giving shape and form to images inspired by literature.
