Cheryl Jackson
Cheryl runs felt making workshops using a variety of styles and forms for all ages and abilities. Cheryl is also a member of Lapwing Crafts - a group of craftspeople who offer inspirational workshops.
Cheryl also produces unique pieces sold exclusively through Gallery Upstairs, Blanchland.
Cheryl chanced upon felt making when she saw a workshop being held to teach children and instantly wanted to learn more about it. She became enthralled with the felt making process and studied felt making to learn more.
All felt accessories and pictures are handcrafted by Cheryl from the highest quality merino wool and she uses silk and wool in many forms (thread, roving or fibres) to embellish the work in an unusual way. The work is colourful and bold whilst the felt retains its organic charm.
Cheryl is running workshops at Segedunum during April, Shepherd's Dene Retreat House during May and October and at Gibside National Trust during July 07.
