The objectives of Aurora are to promote, maintain, improve and advance education about the arts within the community at large. We do this by the promotion, production, exhibition, performance and encouragement of the arts including but not exclusively - visual, performing and media arts. Newbiggin Arts Forum

Newbiggin Arts Forum is shortly to take possession of a building in Newbiggin by the sea and will have rooms available for hire to artists wanting studio space. The building is the old Healthy Living Centre on Woodhorn Road.

Although details are yet to be finalised, there will be 3 - 4 rooms available, with an average size of around 4 by 3 metres. These will be dry rooms although there will be access to a communal sink. The anticipated rental will be in the region of £50 per week, with easy access and exit agreements. It is likely that artists will need to agree to a regular short space of time when they would be available to speak to the public about their work, and we would probably have facilities to sell work and take a small commission.

At this stage Newbiggin Arts Forum are registering interest and anticipate having rooms available in early 2009. They would be extremely grateful for any feedback, whether anyone would be interested and also if not, why not!
