Backup, backup and then backup some more!

Yes it’s a pain, and you might have to shell out a few quid, but don’t grumble – just do it! You’ll thank me for it later!

I was speaking with someone today who had a hard disk failure and no backup. As a result everything has vanished. And I don’t mean to single anyone out because I bet that 90% of us are guilty of not maintaining a regular backup.

Generally, there are two types of computer users: those who backup regularly, and those who have yet to lose anything! I am one of the regular backup types! Every night without fail an hour long backup schedule runs, but then I have a lot to lose. I experienced a hard disk failure a few years ago and lost a lot of irreplaceable documents, images etc. Since then I have been very careful. No hard disk failures since, but should it happen I could be back up and running within half a day.

So, the best way to backup? Get your cheque book out and buy something like this:
